Diarrhoea: The acute & chronic area

Although diarrhoea is a nuisance symptom at one extreme, it can be severe or life-threatening at the other. Even mild symptoms may signal a serious underlying gastrointestinal lesion, such as colorectal cancer, or systemic disorder, such as thyroid disease. Most people who die from diarrhoea actually die from severe dehydration and fluid loss. Given the heterogeneous causes and potential severity of these common complaints, it is imperative for all to appreciate the pathophysiology, causative factors, diagnostic strategies, and principles of management of diarrhoea, so that rational and cost-effective care can be delivered.

The most important considerable issue with atypical antipsychotics is extrapyramidal side-effects, weight gain, drug’s prolactin profile, hyperglycemia, dyslipidaemia. Natural therapies of Psychosis including Ayurvedic, Homeopathic, Chinese, Unani medications were proved to be quite safety than the synthetic drugs. Moreover, still a lot of research is needed to be carried out in the development of novel antipsychotic drugs from natural as well as synthetic origin.
